Beetroot Pulissery; How to Make This Tasty Curry?


Once again, I’m coming with a tasty recipe from our Manchester kitchen. Today we are preparing a tasty curry recipe i.e. Beetroot pulissery.

At first, let’s have a quick look at the ingredients.


  • Beetroot – 1 Cup (Cut into Square Pieces)
  • Coconut Grated – 1 Cup
  • Cumin Seeds – 3/4 tsp
  • Green Chilies – 1
  • Salt – According to taste
  • Water – 2 Cups
  • Curd – 1 cup

For Tempering

  • Coconut Oil – 1 tbs
  • Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds -1/2 tsp
  • Dry Red Chilies – 2 to 3
  • Curry Leaves

Preparation Method:-

Please follow the instructions as shown in the video to prepare tasty pulissery with beetroot.

Unlike in Kerala, in Manchester, I got beetroot in steamed form and so they are half cooked. I use the steamed beetroot for preparing beetroot pulissery. As it is already half cooked, the preparation is also according to it.
