Easy to Cook Chakka Payasam (Jackfruit Stew)

Payasam is an inevitable ingredient for any festival like Vishu, Onam or other personal celebrations like Birthday and so on. Here in this video, Lekshmi Nair demonstrates a very special Chakka Payasam (jackfruit stew or Jackfruit payasam), which is very easy to make.

The recipe and ingredients of the Chakka Payasam are given below.

Ingredients:-

  1. Jackfruit pieces or jackfruit pulp: 50 nos
  2. Jaggery: 500 gm (1/2 kg)
  3. Coconut milk (1st extract): 1 1/2 cups
  4. Coconut milk (2nd extract): 2 cups
  5. Coconut milk (3rd extract): 2 cups
  6. Ghee: 2 tbs
  7. Cardamon powder: 1 tsp
  8. Dry ginger powder: 1/2 tsp

For Garnish:-

  1. Ghee: 2 tbs
  2. Cashew nuts: 50 gm
  3. Kismis (raisins): 50 gm
