Easy Breakfast Sambar Recipe

Sambar is one of those rare curries which goes with every dish, be it dosa or idli, rice or chappathi, and more. Here’s an easy way to prepare Sambar for Breakfast. Try out this recipe at home.

Special Breakfast Sambar:-

Ingredients:-
1. Tuvar Dal- 1/2 Cup
2. Big Onion- 2 (Medium Size)
3. Potato- 1 Big
4. Carrot- 1 Big
5. Tomato- 2 (Medium Size)
6. Ripe Pumpkin- 1 Big Piece
7. Green Chillies or Sambar Chillies- 2 Big

{All vegetables to be cut into big square pieces}

Other Ingredients:-
1. Turmeric Powder- 1/2 Tsp
2. Kashmir Chilli Powder- 2 Heaped Tsp
3. Coriander Powder- 2 1/2 Heaped Tsp
4. Tamarind- 1 Small Lemon Size
{Water for soaking Tamarind- 2 cups}
5. Asafoetida Powder- 1/2 Tsp
6. jaggery (grated)- 1 tbs
7. Fenugreek Powder- 1/4 Tsp
8. Salt- According To Taste
9. Coriander Leaves- 1/2 Cup (Chopped)
10. Additional Water- 2 Cups

Tempering:-
1. Coconut Oil- 1 1/2 Tbs
2. Mustard Seeds- 1 Tsp
3. Cumin Seeds- 1/2 Tsp
4. Dry Red Chillies- 4 To 5
5. Curry Leaves- 2 Sprigs

Preparation Method

Let’s start Cooking, with love, the world’s healthiest breakfast that is Idli and sambar. It’s also one of the easiest recipes to make as well. You can make a tasty sambar with this simple idea.

  • Take a small lemon sized tamarind and soak into the water.
  • In cooker place the vegetables inside and add sambar dal (washed and cleaned)
  • Add tamarind water of two cups and extra 2 cups of water too.
  • Then add turmeric, Kashmiri chilly, and coriander powder and asafoetida powder, and finally, add salt to taste to this and mix well.
  • Close the lid of the cooker and cook.

After cooking transfer the sambar to another cooking pan and switch the flame on by the time add fenugreek powder and jaggery of 1tbsp. Decorate with fresh coriander leaves it will add extra aroma and flavor to the sambar.

For tempering

Take a pan and add coconut oil and when its boiling add mustard seeds, cumin seeds let it crack dry chili and curry leaves and puts this mixture to sambar

Your tasty sambar is now ready to use with idli and dosa.
